Some of My Work Before Today

Color Selection:
The blending of colors is important to me. I use nature as inspiration when I'm choosing colors for decorating an event.  I arrange them so they blend as harmoniously as a rainbow does.

Below:  Still in the Preparation Stage:  I catered some homemade, that I made, cherry cheesecakes (the hostesses favorite).  Also, I decorated some candles in purple and blue  (colors that the hostess requested).  I also "cheated" and ordered some delicious chocolate candy cheesecakes from Juniors Cheesecake restaurants in NYC and had them flown in for the occasion. Both flavor choices were also a hit with the guests.

Just wanted to share some of my past with you.  Here are some pictures of me and my kids (now adults).

Here I am many years ago on a modelling shoot.

Here's my daughter in a photoshoot she did last year.  She wants to be a singer (which she does very well) and is scheduled to audition for the show "THE VOICE" on NBC this year.

Here I am vacationing on the beach in Carlsbad California with my son and daughter.  This picture was taken October 2011.

That's enough for now. I'll catch you up on more in another post.

I'd love interaction so feel free to respond.

ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm Kiki! And in one way or another, I've always been an event planner.  As a former schoolteacher, full time mom, beauty pageant title holder and event planning volunteer for over 20 years, I've been in the business for longer than I'd like to admit.

One thing about it is, I love this business, yes even with the pitfalls and there are many.   I'm a professional multitasker. In fact, if I'm not doing more than more thing, I get bored (does that make me ADHD? hummm, I wonder). If it does make me ADHD, its served me well as, getting tired usually means that I'm ready for more work.

Both of my children went blind when they hit their teens (they are 3 years apart),  it took alot of adjusting for all of us (since I stayed a single mom after their father died in a car accident) but, we adjusted without as much as a hiccup between us (well maybe just a small one).

The hardships me and my family had to endure only made me more certain that we are strong enough to endure.  Now both of my children are done with college, and I'm ready to devote my time to something I've always love, event planning.

On this blog, you can follow me on my journey.  I'm looking forward to sharing my experiences with you.  Some will be funny, some will be frustrating and most will be rewardingly beautiful and fullfilling.  If you ever thought you'd like to be an event planner, follow me on this new venture of mine.

When you observe my journey, perhaps it'll help you decide if this is really something you'd like to do for yourself!
